Reports from the media are predicting the end of the French opinions on gambling regulations as they stand.
It is the French media itself that is making these predictions of the Sarkozy administration’s current regulation standards. The administration is experiencing extreme pressure from the European gaming commission to change their policies.
The liberation of the French online gaming industry will most certainly be looked upon as a step up for the industry operators. This will also prevent the need for further investigation and possible prosecution by the European Commission.
The principles of the EU are clear in their governing of free trade of goods and services between nations. For France to continue their monopolistic state, they would be in violation of these principles, and subject to large penalties and fines. As members of the commission, they are in held liable for any alternative practices that are not in compliance. It is becoming apparent to the Sarkozy administration that it is time for change.
France is not the only country poised to make changes, though. Future introduction of gaming operators is not planned for any particular date, however many are poised to participate as soon as the trade is opened in any of the countries in question.
