Lucky Bingo Day for Great Grandfather

Friday, January 25th, 2008

A sixty-one year old Great Grandfather from South Shields recently received the shock of his life when he won the National Bingo game whilst playing at his local Majestic Bingo Club.

The man is a grandfather of four and has three Great Grandchildren too. He called full house in forty-five numbers which was the lowest number in the entire National Bingo network of 470 bingo clubs.

The luck gentleman admitted to really enjoy playing bingo, and to having played bingo every night for many years but never won anything near like the £40 000 win he received with this big win. He said that eh and his wife were just about to leave the bingo club when they announced how much he had won, he was with his wife at the time and they got such a surprise that the both just started jumping around like children.

He said that although they had to wait twenty minutes to find out the results, it was worth the wait and now they were thinking about redecorating the house to freshen up the look of it as he spends a lot more time at home now that he has retired.

Bingo Cruises 2008

Monday, January 14th, 2008

After the long hard British winter, it might be a good idea to take some of that bingo winning money you have accumulated whilst whiling away the long cold, snowy and rainy nights playing online bingo and spend it on a holiday.

If you have been lucky enough to win at bingo and feel that you might like to try to win some more whilst having a much needed and somewhat sunnier break. What better way to enjoy your favourite activity than joining one of I Bingo and Bingo Destinations Western Caribbean Cruises.

Much as I love Skegness, it is a far cry from lounging around on the deck of a cruise liner for four days, whilst working on your tan and your bingo game and looking forward to stopping at such exotic places as the “Conch Republic” where Hemmingway’s house still stands and where Harry Truman holidayed.

Bingo cruises are a very good concept for the bingo lover, as they cater specifically to the core of the interest that most people on board the cruise have. In other words, everyone joining the cruise, has in some way or other an interest in playing bingo and this is a fantastic opportunity to make international, lifelong friends who share similar interests. This takes place in May 2008 and details are freely available online.

Online Bingo CM Team of the Year 2007

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Now that the votes have been counted for the winner of the Which Bingo UK Online Bingo Site of the Year for 2007, and the Best New Online Bingo Site of the Year, we also have the results for the best UK Online Bingo CM Team Awards. This is only the second year that the prestigious award has been running, so it is quite an achievement for the winners.

The year 2007 winning CM’s work for an online bingo sites that is specifically dedicated to Scottish bingo players, the majority of the CM’s are Scottish and this allows a very unique atmosphere for online bingo players from Scotland. Obviously this has paid off and their members feel very strongly about their ability to make them feel at home when online, and have paid them back by voting them in as award winners.

This year’s contest was very tight and it was by a very narrow margin that Bingo Scotland CM’s team came in first place against the CM team of Think Bingo. The second place winner from 2006, Mecca Bingo came third this year. Well done to Bingo Scotland!

Just as an interesting endnote, the International Online Bingo CM Team of the Year 2007 was awarded to BingoNet, which apparently comes as no surprise as they took the prize in 2002, 2003, 2006 and now 2007.

2007 A Year of Turmoil for British Bingo

Friday, January 4th, 2008

The year 2007 has been a year of turmoil for the UK bingo industry, the introduction of very strict new gaming regulations and the smoking ban coming in tops for blame on the whole, with the ridiculous taxation discrimination following on a close second.

All in all it seems that there have been many ups and downs for the industry and some clubs have been closing down, while others have been thinking outside the box and coming up with new and ever more innovative ways to get bums in the seats of the land based bingo clubs throughout the country.

A stiff competitor for market share in the UK bingo industry has also been online bingo, although many of the well established bingo brands have admitted that their online bingo ventures have been responsible for saving the skin of their land based industry sector, and most are in agreement that online bingo is not the root cause of the shocking drop in profits for the industry as a whole. However, 2008 remains to be seen as the decider whether the UK land based bingo industry will sink or swim, so I suppose that we shall have to wait and see how it all pans out before any real opinion can be expressed.
