A Holbeck woman who retired after turning sixty earlier this month is the lucky winner of more than ₤33 000. She is hoping the money will boost her pension, but intends to share the money with her sister as she is sticking to an agreement they made that they would share any bingo winnings either of them made. Her sister is going to spend some of the money visiting her Daughter in Florida for three weeks at Christmas time and she also wants to make some home improvements.
She plays with her older sister about once or twice a week at the Mecca Bingo club in Balm Road, Hunslet, where she has been a member for five years, and after calling full house in forty two numbers she won the National Bingo prize of ₤31 000, the Regional of ₤2 000 and the house prize of ₤146. She said that the biggest previously won prize she has ever had was for ₤500.
When she won this huge amount of money, she telephoned her husband, he doesn’t play bingo and when she told him how much she had won, he was completely gob smacked. She doesn’t know what she is going to do with the money and is going to have to think about it a bit, but her and her husband definitely intend to enjoy a nice luxury holiday.
