Bingo on Your Mobile?  Soon You'll Be Able to Gamble Anywhere

Mobile phone software experts are confident that punters will soon be able to play bingo on their mobile phones – but that it may be a while before the service is a quality one.  This was the news from the 5th Annual Mobile Gaming Summit in London, which took place on the 18th and 19th of November and was attended by the likes of Betfred, Betfair and Skybet (potential early adopters?  Who knows?).   The move towards mobile bingo has so far been frustratingly slow, but it does seem that there is now the will to move forward.

The gambling software company mfuse are in the process of developing new bingo-related products, although these are not likely to hit the market until the Spring of 2009, and it is believed that the first step will be more along the lines of Keno than straight bingo.  Mobile Bingo in its fullest form could still be four or more years away, with experts stating that mobile gaming in general is lagging badly behind computer-based online gambling.  People with really small laptops seem to be the ones in the driving seat right now, then.

Among all the gambling companies at the summit, the strong message was that mobile gambling was the way forward due to the incredible increase in convenience that it provides.  The extensive battery life of a mobile phone, added to its portability, means that if a proper mobile bingo service gets launched gamers will be able to play literally anywhere.  There are some places that you can’t take a laptop, but a mobile will go in your pocket and can be taken anywhere.  This is a highly desirable state of affairs for the gaming companies and, once it becomes viable, we can expect to see the proliferation of online Bingo providers offering customers the earth replicated with mobile phones.
